Sierra-Foothills AFWPI "Odd" Get Together

Local wedding and special event professionals please join us for an "odd" get together!  We are proud to be providing the musical entertainment and lighting for the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AFWPI) Sierra-Foothills Chapter inaugural mixer "Odd Weddings" on Wednesday January 18, 2017, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Randy Peters Catering & Event Center, 105 Vernon Street, Roseville CA 95678.  There will be mixing, a venue tour, a round-table educational topic dealing with "odd weddings," followed by more mixing.  Our first mixer is FREE!

Happy National Disc Jockey Day!

National Disc Jockey Day is observed annually on January 20th.

A disc jockey, or DJ for short, is a person who plays recorded music either on the radio or at a club or event.

The first disc jockey was an experiment on the airwaves. In 1909, 16-year-old Ray Newby was a student under the supervision of Charles “Doc” Herrold at Herrold College of Engineering and Wireless. He played the first records over the airwaves before the phrase disc jockey even existed.

What started as an experiment from the Garden City Bank Building where the college was located in San Fernando, California was soon being replicated by radio broadcasters across the country.  Prior to Newby, news, music and entertainment were primarily broadcast live.  It wasn’t until 25 years later that radio commentator Walter Winchell coined the term “disc jockey”. 

Today, modern DJs play music from vinyl to digital. Regardless of the medium they use, the term disc jockey still applies.  Hip hop DJs became popular in the late 70s and 80s using multiple turntables and using the turntables themselves as an instrument to alter the music. Mobile DJs often act as the master of ceremonies at events or parties directing the evening’s activities.

National Disc Jockey Day is celebrated in remembrance of the death of Albert James Freed a.k.a. 10th Annual Bear Jamboree Fall Carnival

We will be providing musical entertainment for Blue Oaks Elementary School's 10th annual Bear Jamboree Fall Carnival on Friday October 4, 2013, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The event will include carnival games and prizes, hula hoop and dance contests, a pumpkin walk, a bake sale, a giant slide, a jousting ring, obstacle courses, and a raffle. 8150 Horncastle Dr., Roseville.

Join Chick-fil-A's Easter Egg Hunt!

On Saturday April 7, 2012, JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment will provide the musical entertainment for Roseville Chick-fil-A's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will be fun for the whole family! The parking lot will be magically transformed with real grass into a park-like setting, where children in groups ranging from ages 2-and-under to ages 9-10 will participate in a total of 10 hunts! There will be 25,000 eggs and prizes, including winning Chick-fil-A for a year! Roseville Police and Fire Department will have equipment on display. There will be lots of fun vendor booths too!
