JD Firestone (JD the DJ) will be at The Las Vegas DJ Show September 9-11, 2013, where he will be attending topics on business, performance, and gear. Some seminars he looks forward to attending involve: hosting techniques including connecting with an audience, microphone skills, improvisation, and keeping an event moving; adding new depth to wedding party introductions with staging and personalizing content; learning new games and activities for weddings and corporate events; and designing family-oriented entertainment with the best music selections and hands-on interactive dances and games.

Fun Wedding Game - Who Are You?

Fun wedding where the couple had us conduct a game to see how well the bride knows the groom. We played "Who Are You" by The Who as the men sat in chairs while the blindfolded bride felt their hair and facial features, trying to pick which man was the groom. She narrowed it down to two men, ultimately selecting her husband. But just before the reveal, the two of them switched places leading to some big laughs for all. ;) Mardi Gras at the French Quarter

We recently had the pleasure of providing the musical entertainment for Cobblestone Elementary School's PTC Mardi Gras French Quarter Dance. The fundraiser raised money to purchase new computers for the school. It was awesome! The crowd got their laugh on with standup comedy from Nick Aragon. Then they were amazed with sleight of hand by Caddwynn the Magician. Next things really got hot with fire-dancer Justin from River City Fire as he spun fire balls on the dance floor. Adding to the ambience was face-painting by Kelly, tarot card reading from Hexipa, and balloon art by Tiffany's Balloon Twisting. After crowning a mardi gras king, the crowd really got their groove on as we danced the night away! Super Bowl Idea for Your Super Guy!
For weddings, here's a fun idea to put a new spin on an old tradition. When the groom removes the garter, he can wrap it around a plush or Nerf football. After calling together a quick huddle with the single guys, he can sprint across the dance floor and then turn to hurl a pass to one of the lucky guys! We can excite the crowd by playing the "Monday Night Football" theme and announcing the play-by-play action as it unfolds. It can be quite surprising, as the opportunity to make an interception always exists!Join Chick-fil-A's Easter Egg Hunt!
On Saturday April 7, 2012, JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment will provide the musical entertainment for Roseville Chick-fil-A's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will be fun for the whole family! There will be 25,000 eggs and prizes, including winning Chick-fil-A for a year! Roseville Police and Fire Department will have equipment on display. There will be lots of fun vendor booths too! Located at 912 Pleasant Grove Blvd. in Roseville from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. For more details please call 916-773-558 or click here.

JD Attends DJ Seminars In Reno
On August 25, 2011, JD Firestone (JD the DJ) attended the Mobile Beat Tour 2011 in Reno where he listened to Jason Weldon of Synergetic Consulting speak on key components of conventional lighting for DJs and John Rozz of Connecticut's Sound Spectrum Entertainment speak on how to work your skills and games with Tots, Tweens and Teens. JD learned some creative ideas on how to make kids events even more fun and educational and picked up John's new "Icebreakers" book to hone his interactive skills!
JD Learns The Right Way To Do "Y.M.C.A."
Las Vegas Feb. 2, 2011 - JD the DJ attended a private concert at the top of the Riviera Hotel, where the Village People entertained JD and his fellow DJs, bringing to life a variety of their hits from the 70's and 80's including "In The Navy", "Macho Man", "In Hollywood (Everybody Is A Star)", "San Francisco" and, of course, "Y.M.C.A." For the Y.M.C.A., the fella's instructed the DJs to make sure their guests spell out the letters the right way. In particular, the 'M' is NOT made by placing the arms above the head and curving the forearms over - that makes you look like a monkey! Instead, it is made by bending the elbows from the 'Y' pose so the fingertips meet over the chest. (Photo by Aaron Cobbett)
JD Dances "The Cupid Shuffle" with Cupid!
Las Vegas Feb. 1, 2011 - JD the DJ of JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment attended the American Disc Jockey customer appreciation party at the top of the Riviera Hotel and had the privilege of getting on stage and dancing the "Cupid Shuffle" with several of his fellow DJs as Cupid performed the song live for the audience. Cupid then wowed the crowd when he busted some moves as he taught JD and the others the Cupid Suffle Part 2 to his soon-to-be-released song "CU-Step". Now JD can teach you those new moves at your next event!
