Local DJs Help Raise over $25,000 for Shriners Hospital

The Sacramento Chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) recently held its 5th annual "Cool California Nights Gala" charity dinner dance and 2nd annual charity Golf Tournament with title sponsor Molina Healthcare at Granite Bay Golf Club.  100% of the net proceeds benefited Shriners Hospitals for Children, Northern California.  On November 3, 2012, a check for $25,065.57 was presented to the hospital.

DJs Host Gala & Golf Tournament to Benefit Shriners Hospital

The Sacramento Chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) is holding its 5th annual "Cool California Nights Gala" charity dinner dance with title sponsor Molina Healthcare. 100% of the net proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California for whom they have raised close to $35,000 in past years.  The Gala will be held at 6:30 pm on Sunday October 21, 2012, at Granite Bay Golf Club, 9600 Golf Club Drive in Granite Bay. This spectacular evening will have a wonderful menu, great prize opportunities, and festive dining and dancing music. Ringfinder Darryl Mansfield Joins Rings

JD Firestone (JD the DJ) recently had the pleasure of providing the musical entertainment for Kevin and Kelly's wedding, where local ringfinder Darryl Mansfield answered their special request to officiate their ceremony.  Darryl has been a metal-detecting specialist for the past 24 years and has helped reunite people with their lost jewelry on countless occasions.  The gathering took place at Le Rivage Hotel by the Sacramento River.  Fortunately Darryl's detector skills were not needed this time as the exchange of vows and rings went smoothly!

Southwest Airlines' Great Customer Service

At JD Productions, Quality DJ Entertainment we pride ourselves on customer service.  We'd like to share a great customer-service story that unfolded on JD's recent trip to the Las Vegas DJ Conference:

When JD arrived at the Southwest Airlines baggage carousel, he saw a luggage piece that looked like his. JD went to retrieve it, but then noticed it had a green "LATE CHECK-IN" tag.  JD had not checked in late and upon closer inspection, confirmed the luggage was not his. JD then watched as it continued to circulate on the baggage carousel.

When baggage from the next flight began unloading, JD deduced that the owner of the luggage probably took his luggage by mistake, so JD picked up the luggage and brought it to a baggage handler (Jessica) and told her the story. Jessica immediately paged the luggage's owner to return to the baggage area.  Because there was no immediate response, Jessica sent JD to the baggage office to have another handler (Felicia) call the luggage's owner.

Felicia immediately phoned the owner, who had not realized that she took JD's luggage. Fortunately, she was still at the airport. Felicia and JD met up with the owner, where they exchanged their luggage, after Felicia ensured proper ownership. Both the owner and JD were very grateful for the quick response of Jessica and Felicia. They demonstrated great customer service!

Hot August Nights with Sweet Summer Dreams

"JD the DJ" of JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment will be providing the musical entertainment for the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI) mixer on Tuesday August 7, 2012, 6:00 pm at Orchard Creek Lodge, Sun City Lincoln Hills.  The "Hot August Nights with Sweet Summer Dreams" themed evening will feature rock-n-roll hits from the 50's, great food, and businesses including Chuck Roberts Photography, Premier Events by Kristine, A Dazzling Day by Darcie, and All Blooms floral.  Join your fellow wedding and special event professionals for a fun evening of socializing and entertainment!

Honor Thy Father

A great way for the bride to honor her father during the father-daughter dance is to include a surprise voice-over message from her that is mixed into the song that she or her father has chosen for their first dance.  In this way he can hear, in her own words, what his love and support means to her.  Another way is for the professional DJ/MC, when introducing the father-daughter dance, to highlight special memories the bride has of her father that she experienced while growing up.  This will lead to even greater memories for her and her father!

Cupid's Feel Good Music

R&B/Soul vocalist Bryson Bernard, popularly known as Cupid of the "Cupid Suffle" fame, recently released his new CD "Feel Good Music" on the Hub City Records label.  The CD is jam-packed with 20 tracks that will have you groovin' on the dance floor.  It features the "CU-Step" (aka "The Cupid Suffle Part 2"), which JD had the privilege of learning how to dance on stage with Cupid at a DJ convention, as well as other catchy tunes like "Pop It Girl" and "Do It With Your Boots On".  Available now on I-tunes

Lace Up Your Sneakers for Run Rocklin!

The 9th annual “Run Rocklin” will be Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Johnson-Springview Park on Fifth Street. It will begin with a 12K Run at 8 a.m., followed by a 5K Run/Walk at 8:20 a.m. Children can participate in the free quarter-mile Kids Fun Run at 7:45 a.m. There also is a free one-mile run for kids, which is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Run Rocklin has become a significant community event that last year attracted teams of runners from throughout the Sacramento region and nearly reached its goal of 3,000 participants. The race helps raise money for local schools and for the locally-run, nonprofit Matt Redding Scholarship Foundation. Join Chick-fil-A's Easter Egg Hunt!

On Saturday April 7, 2012, JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment will provide the musical entertainment for Roseville Chick-fil-A's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will be fun for the whole family! The parking lot will be magically transformed with real grass into a park-like setting, where children in groups ranging from ages 2-and-under to ages 9-10 will participate in a total of 10 hunts! There will be 25,000 eggs and prizes, including winning Chick-fil-A for a year! Roseville Police and Fire Department will have equipment on display. There will be lots of fun vendor booths too! JD Productions Recognized Among Top Mixer Teams!

On February 6, 2012, at the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPI) Sacramento Chapter's annual recognition gala held at the Aerospace Museum of California, JD Productions Quality DJ Entertainment was among the wedding and special event industry professionals to be awarded for the Top Three Mixer Teams of The Year! The mixer was a "Nautical Cruise" aboard the Empress Hornblower Old Sacramento of Hornblower Cruises & Events last May. Way to go team!

JD to Entertain at Family Fun Run!

JD Productions, Quality DJ Entertainment will be providing the musical entertainment for the Running School Family Fun Run on Sunday morning January 22, 2012, at the Whole Foods Market in the Fountains at Roseville Shopping Center. Events include a 5k, 10k, 13.1-mile, and FREE Kids (10 & under) 1-mile Fun Run. Runners, walkers, strollers, and leashed pets are welcome! Throughout the morning, kids can enjoy free rock climbing sessions with Mobile Rock, the incredible Spider Maze, as well as trips through the challenging Mobile Rock deluxe inflatable obstacle course and fun bounce house. There will also be recurring performances from world-class BMX trick artists in the Whole Foods parking lot. Come and rock out with JD on race morning!
